Known Donor Search

Known donor search
Many people prefer to know the identity of their sperm donor. Unlike an anonymous donor, a known donor's identity is shared with you, and you decide together what kind of relationship works for your family.

Modamily's community includes nearly 20,000 men open to being known donors. After a consultation to discuss your timeline and criteria, we personally search our database, vet candidates, and introduce you to donors who match what you're looking for — typically within about a month.

Recipients cover any medical, legal, and travel expenses. As the legal parent, you choose the level of contact that's right for you and your child.

Optional donor compensation (typically $5,000) is paid directly to the donor. Recruiting outside our database is available for an additional fee.

One-on-one alignment calls with every candidate before introduction

Getting started

  1. Free consultation. A call to talk through your goals, timeline, and which search fits you best.
  2. Onboarding. You complete our concierge questionnaire and share a few photos so we can build your private concierge profile.
  3. Strategy session. We define your criteria, non-negotiables, and where to search.

Your search

  1. Vetted introductions. We screen and speak with every candidate before making an introduction.
  2. Ongoing support. Feedback after each introduction, plus referrals to attorneys, clinics, and counselors when you need them.
